The Carbine Club of New Zealand raises $25k for disabled people to participate in sport and recreation

The Carbine Club of New Zealand continues to provide support to Paralympics New Zealand Disability Sport Auckland through the Charity Golf Day Classic and the Sir Denis Blundell Charitable Trust.

Celebrating 30 years of this event, the Carbine Club of New Zealand continues its commitment to disabled athletes raising vital funds for the New Zealand Paralympic Team’s campaign to Paris 2024, as well as community Para sport initiatives and programmes.

Greg Warneke, Chief Executive, Paralympics New Zealand says ” The Charity Golf Day sends a powerful message of driving social change, through the platform of sport. We believe that events like these are about building a supportive community around our Para athletes and promoting a diverse and inclusive society.  The impact of your support extends far beyond the golf course. It helps us continue breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for Para athletes to participate in any sport that they choose to.”

He says “We want to strengthen and enhance Para sport environments that promote trust, respect and belonging. A Para athlete must have the right to be supported in their talents and aspirations, whether this is at a community sport level or on a pathway to competing at the Paralympic Games. PNZ has a busy programme in the coming years to deliver these goals”.

Yann Roux, Chief Executive, Disability Sport Auckland says “The Charity Golf Classic is a hallmark event in our calendar. It holds tremendous significance as it serves as a beacon of hope and support for disabled athletes within our community. The Carbine Club of New Zealand’s support to the Sir Denis Blundell Charitable Trust for disabled athletes exemplifies the ethos of compassion and inclusivity that lies at the heart of Disability Sport Auckland’s mission.  The funds raised through this event play a pivotal role in sustaining Disability Sport Auckland’s scholarship program, which provides essential support to 13 deserving athletes, coaches, and volunteers on their journey towards high-performance excellence”.

He continues “Your generosity not only empowers our scholarship recipients but also inspires hope and positivity throughout our community”.

The Carbine Club of New Zealand thanks all the sponsors and supporters of the Charity Golf Day Classic.

A cheque will be presented to Paralympics New Zealand and Disability Sport Auckland at an upcoming luncheon.
